Inspiration …
Years ago when I started blogging, I came across Australian blogging guru Darren Rowse of ProBlogger.net – and now ProBlogger.com (he’d so hate me calling him a guru, but if the shoe fits …;-)).
At that time, on his blog, Darren had a 31 Day series of blogs called 31 Days To Build A Better Blog. Those posts became the basis for a best-selling book of the same name.
What Darren did was post a blog daily for a whole month, giving bloggers a tip on how they could take action on their blog in some small way each day in order to, ultimately, drastically improve their blog.
The key was just taking one small action each day. And the message was that taking just one small action step a day toward a goal can make a huge difference in time.
And THAT is the key to most things in life that we want to move forward in.
31 Days To A Better CFS Life
Taking one small action a day might seem difficult when you have CFS / ME. Taking any action – physically – can sometimes seem like an impossible task. Luckily “taking action” does not necessarily have to be physical action.
Taking action can merely be choosing another thought – a thinking action.
In the next month, inspired by Darren Rowse, I’m setting out to create a series of 31 blogs in 31 days that will give you ideas of how to live more powerfully with CFS / ME.
They are a mix of practical steps you can take toward improving your quality of life, along with mental tricks and tips on how we can use the power of our minds to change the way we view our circumstances – therefore leaving us feeling more empowered.
Can I manage daily blogs?
Answer: I don’t know yet!
Considering I live with CFS myself, along with severe electrosensitivity, I have set the goal of posting daily blogs for 31 days, and I fully intend to do so. However, as you would know, sometimes our intentions and our body have different ideas when we have CFS.
There may be days where I just cannot manage to post. I’ve tried to plan ahead and have a number of posts planned out and 3/4 written, but I’m not going to run myself into the ground in an attempt to get a post up every day.
You see, that’s one of the things I’ve tended to do quite often in my CFS journey – run myself into the ground in an attempt to fulfill a commitment or promise. So that’s why I’m not promising 31 consecutive days of blogs.
But what I do promise is, even if there is a day or 2 in between my 31 Days To A Better CFS Life blogs, there will, in the end, be 31 blogs posted, with 31 different topics, giving you a variety of tips, tricks, hints, ideas and suggestions on how you can create a more empowered, ‘better’ life, while living with CFS / ME.
Daily Action Steps
Each day there will be a small action step included at the bottom of each blog. It won’t be something that will take much effort or energy. Often it will just be a “thinking action”. But every day there will be SOMETHING you can do to take action in moving forward in your life with CFS / ME – moving toward a ‘better CFS life’!
I encourage you to take the actions each day. If you’ve taken the effort to read the blog, you are obviously interested in living a more empowered life with CFS / ME. The actions will be where the gold is. And if you strongly object to the action step on a particular day, just tell me so. I’m always open to feedback – and there’s always an edit button! 🙂
And So We Begin!
So, our journey begins today. By the end of the day – remembering I have from 12.01am in Tonga to 11.59pm in American Samoa and it’s STILL the same day 😉 – I will have my first post up.
And from there you can look forward to daily posts on living powerfully with CFS / ME. And if I happen to miss a day here and there, eventually you WILL get 31 Days – they just might not be consecutive! 🙂
But I will be doing my darndest to “Make It So” in the famous words of Captain Jean Luc Picard of the Starship Enterprise!!
Enjoy the journey! And let me know what you think each day in the comments sections or on Twitter or Facebook (using the hashtag #31DaysToABetterCFSLife). A long tag, I know, but just tell me what you think over a couple of Tweets if need be :-).
Stay Tuned!
Keep Smiling
Louise
