I’ve been off the radar for a while – I just realised it’s over 3 weeks since I last posted. I have been working on a few posts, but mostly I’ve been working on healing from the stomach parasite that has been upsetting my immune system. Turns out I wasn’t so over it as I thought when I last posted. So I thought I’d just post something short and sweet so you know I’m still around and very committed to this blog.
Even after 20 odd years of CFS, I STILL sometimes resist taking time to heal. You’d think I’d have got it by now that when I’m really unwell I need to rest and allow myself to recover. I guess that because I’ve been feeling a lot better recently re the CFS I’ve been a bit stubborn about accepting that I have yet ANOTHER health thing to manage.
But my lesson in general life at the moment is to surrender, let go and trust. I’ve been listening to Wayne Dyer’s book on The Tao Change Your Thoughts – Change Your Life: Living the Wisdom of the Tao, and one of the verses says “allow, allow, allow”. What it’s getting at is, stop resisting life. It is as it is. Stop resisting and just trust. Trust life, trust whatever spiritual energy/being/entity you believe in (if any), trust yourself, trust you are on the path you are meant to be on.
Trusting that path is such a challenge when faced with long-term chronic illness such as CFS isn’t it? What kind of path would take you through such misery, pain and anguish? I have asked this question so many times, particularly when the electrosensitivity kicked in as well!!
I don’t have any real answers even now, but I do believe it has all been for a reason. This blog and website and all my plans and ideas that I have for it seem to make my 20 plus years of illness, pain, despair (and all that went with it worth it). I see now that I have the ability to really make a difference to others such that they don’t have to “suffer” as I “suffered” for so long.
So my short message of this blog is to suggest you too look at where you can give up resistance to “what is so” in your life. Where can you just let go and allow things to be as they are, without resistance, judgement, fear or anguish. Just allow!! A challenge, but so peaceful and empowering when you can manage it.
Let me know in the comments section what area you’re taking on :-).
Keep Smiling
Louise
