If you read my previous post, you’ll know I’m:
- Not working online as much lately to give my poor head a break from the electro-magnetic induced migraines from electro-sensitivity (aka ES, EMHS)
- I’ve been creating coaching recordings with my friend and colleague, Coach Coco, and we now have a suite of teachings available to the public.
A conundrum!
The conundrum I’ve been wrestling with for months now is “how can I let people know about our recordings while also staying off technology as much as possible”? For some time I felt quite defeated by this conundrum, and I quite often debate the wisdom of continuing to use technology at all, considering the pain it causes me (and the cost of that to my quality of life and my wallet!)
But one day as I was once again wrestling with this problem, a novel thought came to me – “I could ask my friend, family and followers to help me spread the word”.
Now, for many people this would be a no-brainer, but for me it was (and is) big. Why? I’m not very good at asking for help. Actually, scratch that. I just don’t like to ask for help! (Anyone relate to that??)
I realised I’ve become so used to battling on alone in this weird and not-exactly-wonderful electro-magnetic hypersensitivity (EMHS) that I’ve become almost too independent.
I think this is an issue most Spoonies could relate to in one way or another. We often, by necessity, have become reliant on others around us – partners, family, friends, kids – in a way that we wish was not so. Hence, when it comes to reaching out for help in other ways, we resist it. We tell ourselves we are already a burden, so we don’t want to ask more of those around us.
In my case I try very hard to get on with my life despite the disability I live with. (Just writing the word disability makes me cringe inside because I rarely refer to it as such).
But getting migraines and neuralgia from almost everything electro-magnetic is a disability in this ever-more-technological world. And I guess it’s time for me to move beyond my wish to play down the impact EMHS has on me, and how much it’s stopping me doing what I want to do.
So how can I honour my body, while still doing what I love? And what do I love? ….
Helping others!
What I want to do most of is help people in what way I can to have the best lives and be the best selves they can be (hmmm, I do see the irony in wanting to help people but not being willing to ask for help myself!!).
In order to do the above, I need to let people know where to find the teachings/coachings I’ve been creating for the last 3 years with Coach Coco.
We’ve recorded some pretty great stuff and every time I listen back to it – to edit or check something – I find I get inspired and motivated by our coaching (I do laugh when I find myself agreeing with my recorded self and feeling inspired by something I say – ironic to be coached by my own voice from the past!) 🙂
So it’s time to share it
If I can’t be on Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat and all the social media platforms as much as I’d like to be talking about our work on, I’m ask you – the members of the Guru Crew – to be my proxy and spread the word for me.
I’ve created a couple of coupon codes for you to sample our work, and if you like what you hear, feel free to tell your friends, family and followers about it.
There is even an affiliate program you can sign up for if you’re interested in making a commission from any sales that we get courtesy of your recommendation. If that’s something interests you, please email Louise@GetUpAndGoGuru.com and I’ll add you to the affiliate program (that’s the only way to do it for now via the Gumroad affiliate program).
